As I was painting this painting of a canoe, I was seeking to create a happy serene feeling. As I worked on it and began painting the ribs of the vessel I was thinking about the human body, and was inspired to put some items in the canoe. It became more symbolic of the concept that everything you need for the journey is already inside..
This painting is available through Crown & Press Gallery in Hamilton.
They have a unique business model where you can buy the original artwork, or a quality canvas print of it in any size! They have 3 of my paintings at the gallery to choose from.
